• Lift Substitute: For individuals facing mobility challenges due to broken or absent lifts and escalators, this service addresses a significant barrier. Starting in late 2024, the lift substitute will be accessible throughout Berlin, functioning as needed without a predetermined timetable. Service areas can be checked via the app or the website.

This is how it works:

1. Download the App: Users can easily obtain the BVG Muva app and register with a few clicks or log in using an existing BVG account.
2. Book a Ride: Setting your starting point and destination is straightforward. When enabling GPS, the app suggests your current location automatically. Options for additional luggage and passengers are available, along with a feature for wheelchair-accessible vehicles if needed.
3. Get Picked Up: After booking, users will receive updates on when their vehicle is expected to arrive.
4. Optional Payment Setup: The lift substitute service does not incur additional charges beyond a valid ticket. Flexible rides may carry comfort surcharges. Payment methods can be securely stored in the app, with options including PayPal, SEPA direct debit, credit card, and cash. The total fare is displayed in advance for user transparency.
